Intragnola

::2:: History of the Garden

Later, in 1911 his nephew Vincenzo Sarto, designed and initiated the construction of the villa, which he called Intragnola, after an evening breeze, which blows across from Intra towards Cerro.

We owe him the foundations of the garden, with some conifers collections, among which the Taxodium distichum grove that lines on the beach.

Over the last century the grounds were used as a farm for the breeding of Frisona cattle. The herd, which only numbered 10, coexisted in harmony with the garden. This activity ceased in 1990 with the retirement of the last farmer.

The garden was abandoned for several years until restoration work started, together with new planting.
